The Best Massage Theapist

Larry, I just wanted to take a minute a drop you a line letting you know that you have one of the best massage therapist working for you that I have ever met. During the 8 weeks that AMY MAY was seeing me for my back issue she was able to keep me going when I was having right leg muscle spasms due to a pinched nerve in the L5 area of my back. I truly appreciate her attention during this time and once again tell you she is the best massage therapist I have met in my 30 years of back disorders!

I had a frozen left hip

I came to see Larry because I had a frozen left hip that half a dozen other people had not been able to help me with. My hip hurt when I walked and when I tried to rotate it inward. After just one session with Larry, I was able to walk pain-free. He clearly has both a keen knowledge of how muscles work as well as a gift for reawakening locked, frozen and otherwise shortened muscles with simple but powerful release methods.

My first ½ marathon.

In 2009 I tried to run my first ½ marathon. I did finish, but not without ending up on crutches for over a month. Too often I think people begin fitness programs on a whim without any guidance or structure. This year I decided to become a client of Tifini McGill---a Personal Trainer. Many may think a personal trainer is a “luxury” but it is actually an investment in your health. Tifini keeps the workouts interesting and tailors them to the clients’ needs and goals. With her guidance and encouragement I am now running 7 miles consistently without any pain! I look forward to another ½ marathon in the near future---AND NO CRUTCHES!!!

Rock Steady ROCKS!

Thank you so much for welcoming Rock Steady Boxing into your studio programming.  This class has been a wonderful way to connect with other folks who have PD, and really exercise in new and different ways.   I feel like I have developed more core strength, more cardio endurance, balance skills, and even a few boxing skills to boot. I offer up special thanks for instructors Dana and Tifini.  They are so patient, encouraging and fun, that in many ways we are exercising and not knowing it.  They make the challenges hard, but allow lots of accommodations of ways to personalize each exercise in the stations. Group time is always good for laughs and we all can relax and feel this is a "safe" environment to let loose a little bit.  Dana and Tifini lead some all star volunteer coaches who donate their time to be spotters, encouragers, counters, sparring partners, and share in our time together. I am so grateful to work with your team and wanted to say "Thanks".

I am a Triathlete

I am a triathlete, and I was recently experiencing low back pain, especially after getting off the bike and going into the run. The day before the Florida Ironman Triathlon, I stopped by the ART tent and explained my problem and met Larry Ogilvie. Larry had me run away from him and then back toward him several times. He immediately picked up a mechanical flaw in my gait, took me to his treatment table and began to work on me. It took Larry approximately 15 minutes to achieve what he called balance. He then asked me to do the same run as before. On the first run away and back, I felt no difference. However, on the next run, I felt like a weight had been lifted off my back. My run became effortless. The next day, I ran the fastest Ironman that I have run in years, thanks mostly to Larry. The Active Release Technique should be used in every athlete’s toolbox as a training aid. Thank you again, Larry.

In only two months my range of motion has improved 90%

After suffering for many years with chronic upper back pain and limited motion in my arms, neck and upper back, I started going to Larry to try the Active Release Techniques that I had heard so much about. I had nothing to lose. After years of going to a chiropractor and a massage therapist regularly, I had only experienced temporary relief. It has been only two months and my range of motion has improved 90 percent. I am living without pain, I’m sleeping well and I’m looking forward to total improvement. I wish I had found this technique years ago.

ART has visibly increased my shoulder flexibility

I was fortunate to have learned about and to have made an appointment with Larry Ogilvie, LMT. His weekly shoulder massages using the Active Release Techniques in conjunction with the daily exercises suggested by my physical therapist has visibly increased my shoulder flexibility.
The muscle therapy sessions have also resulted in reducing the pain from osteoarthritis. I certainly wish that my orthopedic MDs had recommended a visit to a licensed massage therapist after I had met with the physical therapist. Had this occurred, I would not have lost shoulder flexibility nor experienced increased pain.
